D. M. Marquis Goodwin and Marquise Goodwin were both born on November 19, 1990. He is a wide receiver and kick returner for American soccer teams in free agency. At the Olympics, he competed in the long jump. The Buffalo Bills selected Goodwin with the 78th overall choice in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

His sport of choice in track and field is the long jump, where he has won two national college titles. At the 2008 IAAF World Junior Championships, the 2011 World University Games, the 2011 IAAF World Championships, the 2012 Summer Olympics, and the 2015 Pan American Games, where he took home a silver medal, Goodwin competed for the United States.

Tamina Goodwin, a cosmetologist, is the mother of Marquise Goodwin. Deja, his sister, is 10 months younger than him. Deja was born prematurely and undeveloped, with cerebral palsy, and it was no longer expected that she would live past 6 months.

Goodwin played excessive school soccer, participated in song and discipline for the Rowlett Eagles, and attended Rowlett High School in Rowlett, Texas.

Goodwin was a member of the 4100-meter relay team that won the national championship and had the second-fastest 100-meter speed in the state.

She was also the kingdom champion in the triple jump and long jump. Goodwin joined the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity while attending the University of Texas at Austin on an athletic scholarship.
